Ippudo has to be one of my favorite international chains. I’ve eaten here multiple times and across various cities, more recently in Shanghai and they are brilliant. They make one of the best ramen’s in the world. It’s amazing how their quality never falters irrespective of the continent you are on. They have 2 outposts in NYC and if you plan on eating there it will take you a good 2-3 hours before you even get seated. But once you do, the ramen along with the pork buns will leave you wanting for more. Google Ippudo and NYC and you are sure to hit a link ranking it among the top food spots in NYC.
However, in Shanghai it’s a little easier to get a table. Lodged in a mall that houses international brands, it shares common space with high end retailers such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry and hotels like the Ritz Carlton, making you feel nothing short of a high roller. You would think by walking in here you’d end up spending a few Benjamin’s for your meal but for under $15 it’s hard to beat a meal so tasty.
